NCCIM works closely with CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade) in the Annual CHINA-ASEAN BUSINESS AND INVESTMENT SUMMIT (CABIS), held in Nanning, China.

CABIS is the highest-level, largest and most influential economic and trade gathering between ASEAN and China, CABIS has been serving as an important cooperative mechanism and platform for promoting high-level dialogue, economy and trade cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and speaking for business communities. ASEAN, situated on the conjunction between land and ocean along the Belt & Road routes, is the priority region where milestone outcomes have been made in the pursuit of Belt & Road Initiative.

With strong support from China and ASEAN, CABIS has been hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and assisted by the ASEAN Secretariat, National Chambers of Commerce and Industry of ASEAN countries and the ASEAN-China Centre.

Since its launch in 2004, CABIS has been committed to deepening practical economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN, promoting regional economic integration, serving as a platform for dialogue between government and enterprises, and echoing the call of China’s economic development and opening-up.

The CABIS is also held back to back with the CHINA ASEAN EXPO (CAEXPO) – with a Malaysian Pavilion, and draws a number of Malaysian businesses to participate in the Expo (Malaysian participation in CAEXPO is coordinated by MATRADE).

NCCIM is an active participant in CABIS:

● With its presence at the annual the CABIS LIAISON OFFICIALS Meeting, which deliberates on the CABIS Programme for the year.

● And a delegation to attend the annual CABIS event (and related events post CABIS); where NCCIM had been speakers/panelists at the various elements of the CABIS Programme.
